INTRODUCTION

When a person gets saved over 30 things happen. In this message we want to look at just a few of them.

A Christian is someone who has trusted Christ for his salvation.

A Christian is also someone who is a work of God’s grace.

As we look at these works 0f grace we should gain a greater appreciation for the greatness of God’s work and grace.

We must keep in mind these things are the work of God and not that of ourselves.

THE BIBLE gives us this information so that the Christian can rest in assurance OF GOD’S WORK in our lives.  This knowledge gives us the confidence to TALK THE TALK AND WALK THE WALK.

At the moment of salvation we are redeemed..forgiven..justified..a new creation..sealed by the spirit…no longer condemned and a member of the body of Christ.

Part one of this message covers just three..redeemed forgiven and justified.

I  WHEN WE GET SAVED WE GET REDEEMED..Eph 1:7-8.

Eph. 1:7 (KJV)

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Eph. 1:8 (KJV)

Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

This means, I have been purchased by God from sin and sins penalty.

The words redeemed and redemption picture the payment of a price to free a slave.

The price of redemption is the blood of Christ.

Col. 1:20 (KJV)

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Before we were redeemed we served sin.  We were a slave to sin and sin told us exactly what to do and when to do it.

Once we are redeemed or bought by Christ we are free to serve our new master.

The act of redemption by God and the knowledge we have of it should teach us that we are not to live and work for ourselves, but for the one who redeemed or paid for us.

We are His property.

1 Cor. 6:20 (KJV)

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.[ a biblical imperative..not a suggestion}

In this verse our New Master gives us some new instructions.

We are reminded again that we are bought.

Because we are bought we are owned.

Our new owner has the right to tell us what to do.

1.    We are to glorify God:

[ the  reason man was created in the first place]

Glorify means..to show forth the praise of God

A. In our body, which is His.

How does He want us to feed it?

How does He want us to clothe it?

How does He want us to use it?

Verse 19 tells us “your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost”

The bottom line is that we are to use our bodies so that those around us can see that we belong to God.

{ WE ARE TO GLORIFY GOD}

B. In our spirit, which is His.

How can we glorify God in our spirit?

By praising Him for His protection and blessings.

By understanding His character, which, comes from study and learning about Him.

By acknowledging and respecting His authority.

By placing enough value on His word to obey  it.

BY SUBMITTING TO HIS WILL FOR OUR LIFE

Summarized … REDEEMED MEANS ‘’ I MUST LIVE ACCORDING TO MY NEW OWNERSHIP’’

II WHEN WE GET SAVED WE ARE FORGIVEN..Eph 1:7-8.

LOOK AT THESE VERSES AGAIN

Eph. 1:7

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Eph. 1:8

Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence.

FORGIVEN as used in this verse tells the born again person he has been released from the penalty of his sins and their eternal consequences.

The  word FORGIVE pictures a loosing from that which binds a person along with sending AWAY THAT WHICH BOUND HIM.

Think of being securely tied up with a rope…for all of your life.. Someone takes the rope off and then burns the rope.

QUESTION.. WOULD YOUR LIFE BE CHANGED AFTER THE ROPE WAS REMOVED AND BURNED????

Because of the blood of Christ..When a person is forgiven some things happen.

1.    God cleanses the believer from sins.

2.    God restores the believer to full fellowship with Him.

3.    The new believer becomes a CHILD OF GOD.

4.    The believer is now righteous and clean.

ALL THIS HAPPENS THE MOMENT WE ACCEPT CHRIST AS THE ONLY MEANS OF SALVATION.

All we do is BELIEVE….Accept the gift.

Those who are saved remember this:::God has bought me..that is paid the price for my freedom. THEREFORE GOD OWNS ME.

What is that called?? Redemption right.?

FORGIVENESS..takes the relationship one step farther.

This gives us a clean and clear relationship with God.

We can show our appreciation by submitting to the one who bought us and cut the ropes of sin that bound us.

ONCE MORE..if you were bound with ropes for your lifetime and then cut loose, would your life be different?

III WHEN WE GET SAVED WE ARE JUSTIFIED..Rom 3:21-26

Rom. 3:21 (KJV)

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Rom. 3:22 (KJV)

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Rom. 3:23 (KJV)

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom. 3:24 (KJV)

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Rom. 3:25 (KJV)

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Rom. 3:26 (KJV)

To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Just when we think being redeemed and forgiven is more than adequate and much more than we deserve we come to the Bible teaching of JUSTIFICATION.

JUSTIFICATION ..means to be declared righteous by God.

JUSTIFICATION ..signifies the establishment of a person as just by acquittal from guilt.

JUSTIFICATION…is a declaration that a person is righteous.

JUSTIFICATION… is not something we earn..it is a gift we enjoy.

How does this come about…all because of the death of Jesus Christ.

NOTE 5 THINGS

1.When God saves a sinner He accounts that person righteous.

2.    The sinner’s  guilt is placed on the account of Jesus Christ.

3.    Christ’s righteousness is placed on the account of the sinner.

4.    This is called imputation.

5.    This comes only by faith in Jesus Christ.

Rom. 3:22 (KJV)

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

This does not mean we are sinless or can become sinless in this life.

Justification refers to a Christians standing or position before God.

W e will not become sinless until we are transformed or moved into the presence of Christ.

This comes by death or by the rapture. HOWEVER

THIS DOES NOT PROVIDE AN EXCUSE FOR SINNING.

Simply put JUSTIFICATION means we are right with God.

We get right with God by coming to Christ for Salvation.

It is all by the blood of Jesus and God’s Grace.

CLOSE

In this message we have learned about some very important things that happen when we believe on JESUS CHRIST.

We are REDEEMED..that is bought back from the slavery of sin.

Paid for with the Blood Of CHRIST.

God now owns us. He is our master..please remember that.

We are FORGIVEN ..this act of God releases us from the prison which was holding us.

We are released from the penalty and consequences of sin.

We are restored to a complete relationship with God.

We are JUSTIFIED …THAT IS DECLARED RIGHTEOUS.

JUST AS IF I HAD NEVER SINNED.

Jesus took upon Himself my guilt and my sin and paid for me on the cross.

This righteousness is part of the salvation package that God is offering you right now.

God is saying here is a gift…I’m asking will you take the best gift ever offered?
