Sermons I Have Preached at Riverview Baptist

Suffering For Jesus

If you are following Christ and promoting Him as the only way unto God as He has said you will find yourselves at variance with not only the world, but your own family and maybe with some members of the Church. Jesus knew that the Gospel He was teaching was radical, different from what Judaism had drifted to, and certainly different from what the Roman culture believed. What did the Apostle Paul say? God My Joy

I meet very few happy people in our world today. I think the reason for widespread unhappiness and sadly, misery, is because people have sought happiness in all the wrong places. Continue reading

The Eleventh Commandment

In the Old Testament God took Israel to the base of a mountain called Sinai. At the base of that mountain Israel waited until God instructed them in how He wanted them to live. The Israelite looked to the Law of Moses, adjusting their lives up or down to match that Law. Continue reading

Interpretations Belong To God

Christ Is Our Example

We have sanitized much of what Christ did in our Churches today. Look at the Cross behind me. It is a piece of craftsmanship, pretty to look at. The original Cross was not marked with wood stain and precious metals like silver and gold. It was a tree cobbled together. Continue reading

We Must See Jesus

These Greeks – Gentiles really – came to WORSHIP God. They did not come to start a riot. They did not come to elect a politician. They came to see Jesus. Continue reading

Christ Is Precious

Jesus started us all in a Garden called Eden, but surrendered Himself for our sins in a Garden called Gethsemane. Christ made Adam from the dust of the ground, but remakes us from the Blood of His sacrifice. Continue reading
