Obeying The Gospel

There is nothing greater than the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ! The word “Gospel” is first mentioned in the Bible in:

Matthew 4:23 (KJV) … Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom ..

The word “Gospel” is the Greek euangelion, which means “good tidings or good message”. Some say it means “good news”. Jesus called the Gospel the “Gospel of the Kingdom”. The God Who created all that you see is the “King of Kings and Lord of Lords” (Revelation 19:16). To enter His Kingdom (not a democracy, but a Kingdom) you must heed His Gospel. Jesus preached:

Mark 1:15 (KJV) … The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

What does the Gospel teach us, the glorious Good News from God. The Gospel teaches us that The King of Glory left His Throne in Heaven, and came to this earth to become like us. Without sin, the King, the Great Shepherd laid His life down for the sheep, His Kingdom (John 10:15, 17). Godly Leadership Blesses A People

I preached this truth last Sunday morning:

“You CANNOT work your way to Heaven,
but you CAN work your way to Hell”

This is true not only for people, but for nations. For several years now America and the American Church has labored hard to get to hell. We have compromised the Word of God in order to make Christianity relevant to our “please me” society. We have redefined marriage, human sexuality, and even basic grammar (pronouns) in order to please the lost.

The light can only compromise with the darkness by dimming itself. We dim the light when we depart from the clear teachings of the Scripture. It’s time we stopped dimming the light, and letting Satan get victories. … Continue reading →

The Real “Word Of Faith”

Romans 10:4-8 (KJV) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. 5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. 6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? There Is A False “Word Of Faith”

For everything that God has, the devil has an imitation, a forgery, a lie. Take, for instance, the phrase above: “The WORD OF FAITH”. There is a Charismatic “Christian” movement called “Word of Faith”. You Are Either Condemned Or Uncondemned

There are two states that every person can be in: CONDEMNED or UNCONDEMNED before God.

Word Study: To those in love with Jesus, there is “NO CONDEMNATION”. That word “CONDEMNATION” is the Greek katakrima (pronounced kat-ak’-ree-mah), literally means “a sentence of damnation”. When Adam sinned against God, his actions brought katakrima, that is “a sentence of damnation” on all his children. We are told:

Romans 5:18 (KJV) … by the offense of one (Adam) judgment came upon all men to CONDEMNATION (katakrima)

All are born in a state of condemnation. But Jesus has told us:

John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only Begotten Son of God. … Continue reading →

Living For Jesus

Proverbs 14:24-25 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly. 25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

Word Study: The “WISE” (Hebrew ḥāḵām) person is the one who heeds and obeys the Word of God. These people have riches, perhaps not on this earth, but in glory. Jesus said:

Matthew 6:19-21 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The wise person, the believer who loves the Lord, will one day receive a crown of glory that will not fade away (1 Peter 5:4). The fool who rejects the Word of God, mocking the Master, will only have the crown of eternal folly. God Will Be Exalted

When I first entered the Air Force I thought I was going to be a “Dental Technician”. That was what my recruiter told me I could be, and so he had me sign paperwork that gave me a “Guaranteed Field”. I found out later that this was actually double talk, a government lie created to fool new recruits. My “Guaranteed Field” was the “General Field”, of which there were about 100 menials jobs. I was not given a “Guaranteed Job” but a “Guaranteed Field”. Because of that, after Basic Training I was made a “Food Service Technician” (a Cook) inside of the “Guaranteed General Field”. When I protested, I was told that I could go be a “Food Service Technician” or I could go to Leavenworth and make rocks into gravel for the next 4 years. I became a Cook.

That was a very good learning experience for me. I found out that people can lie like a rug on the floor without even batting an eye. The recruiter knew he was lying to me. The commander of that recruiter knew he was lying to me. I suspect the government knew it was lying to me. But I was and am still a Christian, and I know that GOD DOES NOT LIE TO ME. God has never lied to me. God has said,

Romans 8:28 All things work together FOR GOOD to those who LOVE THE LORD, to those WHO ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.

God is in control of all things, and God is good. God sent His Only Beloved Son to this earth to give Himself for my sins. … Continue reading →

Judgment Day Is Coming

The Apostle addresses the “beloved of God”. The word “BELOVED” is the Greek agapētos, which certainly means “BELOVED”, but it means also “those well favored, those worthy of love”. The believer in Christ is worthy of love because he is a believer in Christ. Jesus Christ is God’s “BELOVED Son” (Matthew 3:17). God told the Prophet Isaiah of the Lord Jesus, saying:

Matthew 12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

When you receive Jesus as Lord and Savior you are “BELOVED” for His sake. You are “called to be SAINTS” because Christ’s sacrifice is reckoned to your life. As father Abraham believed on and received Christ, we do as well. Christ’s righteousness is “imputed to us, if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offenses, and raised for our justification”.

But as we come to Romans chapter two, the Word of God does not address the Church, but the lost world. We read:

Romans 2:1 … Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man …

Romans 2:3 … And thinkest thou this, O man …

Word Study: It is not the “BELOVED” that is addressed, but “MAN”, the Greek anthrōpos which means “human being, whether male or female”. The Beloved of God, the Christian is to “let your light so shine before MEN (anthrōpos), that they (the lost) may see our good works, and glorify our Father Who is in Heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Who Said That? Jesus or Satan?

As we believe in GOD, we are to believe in JESUS. Jesus is the Son of God. He is the Great I AM, God manifest in the flesh. Jesus is the One Whom God has sent to show us the way of light. When Israel believed in themselves, they lost the Promised Land. God told Israel that every 7th year was to be a Sabbatical Year where Israel believed not in themselves, but in God. God gave Israel numerous Sabbaths where they were to cease their own works, and believe in God. Yet Israel believed in themselves – and lost the Promised Land and their freedoms. We are never to believe in ourselves – but in God and in Christ. Jesus said:

John 12:44-50 (ESV) …. Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. 47 If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.

Don’t Quit Running, Christian!

Hebrews 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

In chapter 11 God defined faith for us. Faith must be in the proper OBJECT, as faith in the wrong thing or wrong person will not save your soul. We read:

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please {God}: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Faith must come to GOD, believing that He is. Faith must come to Jesus, believing that He is the Messiah. Faith must come to the Bible, believing it is the Word of God. Faith must be in the proper PERSON, the proper OBJECT. … Continue reading →

Beware Of Idols

Now Solomon did not create 3000 proverbs, but “HE SPOKE” 3000 proverbs. Some of the proverbs of Solomon may have been contributed by others, and he repeated them. But as the wisest man who ever lived, what Solomon said was wise was – because of the inspiration of God – wise. The first of the proverbs is:

Proverbs 10:1 The proverbs of Solomon. A WISE son maketh a GLAD father: but a FOOLISH son is the HEAVINESS of his mother.
