Live Graciously, Not Grudgingly
God does not want His children to carry grudges. He wants us to love Him, and love others.
When you carry a grudge, it doesn’t take long before the grudge is carry YOU. Believers in God are NEVER to harbor grudges. In the Lord’s Prayer – a prayer I say often, and I’m sure you all know, God tells us to pray:
Matthew 6:11-12 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
We who are blessed of God are to forgive. Recently in our country people have pulled down statues and monuments, attempting to get rid of our checkered past. God does not want us to do that. God wants us to forgive. … Continue reading

Christ The Foundation Of All Salvation
Under the Old Covenant God was far away, but the Law was near, ever condemning, ever judging. Under the New Covenant God is near, ever aiding, ever loving and writing His Law in our hearts. His Law is near!
If you are under the New Covenant, saved by faith in Christ, then God says to you “I WILL PUT MY LAW IN YOUR INWARD PARTS, AND WRITE IT IN YOUR HEART; AND WILL BE YOUR GOD, and YOU shall be ONE OF my people”. Under the Old Covenant the Law of God was written on stone, and on scrolls. Under the New Covenant God’s Law is written in our hearts by the One Who saved us.
Jesus is the Mediator of the New Covenant. At the first Lord’s Table Jesus said:
Luke 22:20 (KJV) ….. This cup [is] the new testament (New Covenant) in my blood, which is shed for you.
How does one know that they are under the New Covenant? We know by the Presence of God in our daily lives. I am saved – not because some doctrine or denomination tells me so, but because I have the Divine Witness. Jesus is there. God is there. He is in my daily walk. I am not perfect by any means, but God is faithful. Jesus is with us. … Continue reading

Faith – Hope – Love
Colossians 1:1-5 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, [2] To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. [3] We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, [4] Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, [5] For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
What Is The CAUSE Of The Christian?
Every Book in our Bible serves a Divine Purpose – and that is to teach us more about Jesus, more about living as Kingdom People, more about living life as our Heavenly Father designed it to be. The Book of Colossians was written by the Apostle Paul during his first Roman Imprisonment. The proof of this is found in the last verse of this Book, which reads:
Colossians 4:18 The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.
Paul is imprisoned for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. … Continue reading
Keep Your Eyes On The Mission
You may have fantastic spiritual gifts. Beloved, if you have a spiritual gift, it is because God gave that to you. If you have the ability to preach, to teach, to minister, it is not because you are particularly good in yourself. It is because God has given you that gift. The Scripture tells us: Continue reading

What Shall I Do To Inherit Eternal Life?
God had put a parable on my heart to preach this week, a parable found in Luke chapter 10. This parable has often been called “The Parable Of The Good Samaritan”. That’s a bad title because of the word “Good”. Our Lord Jesus said in:
Matthew 19:17 … there is none good but One, that is, God … (see also Mark 10:18)
“Good” is a word we like to over use. When someone dies, the pastor says “He was a GOOD man” or “She was a GOOD woman”. There are none that are good when compared to God. An oft quoted text is:
Romans 3:10-12 as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 there is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Jesus never called this Samaritan “good”, though Jesus uses this Samaritan to describe what loving your neighbor is all about. Let’s look at our text. Continue reading

The Servant Of The Lord
Several many years ago Rick Warren wrote a book called Purpose Driven Life: What On Earth Am I Here For? Many criticized it in the Evangelical Community as “Christianity Light”. You may not have liked the book (I enjoyed it), but it did ask a good question. “What on earth am I here for?” Writer Mark Twain said it another way:
“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born, and the day you find out why.”
Why are you here? Too many people think they are on earth just to please themselves. You may be one of these people…. Continue reading
4. The Musts Of Christianity: We MUST Love
I have noticed that the quarantine from the Coronavirus has made people a little meaner, a little uglier, than they were before. I don’t know if it’s the masks that are hiding the faces, but people seem more predisposed to bed abrupt and rude during this time. I’m standing in line at Aldi’s, one of our local stores, and have my facemask and gloves on. Behind me are standing two Afrian-American women – neither observing social distancing toward me (or towardanyone) – who are apparently in a bad humor. The Caucasian lady in front of me is equally in a bad humor, and both parties are complaining LOUDLY how there are not enough registers opened. In my mind I wonder, “Where are you in such a hurry to go to?”. Under the Governor’s quarantine no one is rushing to eat out, or to make a doctor’s appointment. “Chill out” is the next words that come to mind…. Continue reading

Three Pillars Of Christianity
We defined “faith” as a surrendered trust in the character and promise of God. So what is “hope”? Hope is the cousin of faith. If you have a present faith in the Biblical God then you are not frightened by the future. The God Who saved and continues saving me today will save me days, months, years from now. Continue reading

Living As Children Of Light
Jesus was very clear in this text. The Pharisees – religious as they were – were nonetheless the children of the devil. Why? Because they did not love Jesus. They did not heed His Word. They did not see Him as the Messiah, the Redeemer of His people… Continue reading
