Faith Changes Things

If you were to read this Epistle and not know that Peter was a fisherman then you would think that this was written by someone with a great deal of education. You would expect this person to have an alphabet of letters following his name. Peter had no seminary training, but he was surrendered to God in all that he did. Continue reading

The Christmas Story Part 3

Jesus is in the lowest place He can be so that the lowest and least among us can reach Him. Later wise men shall bring Him gold, frankincense, and myrrh. But now God brings Him the shepherds. He will bring Jesus to you as well – if you but receive Him. Continue reading

Unto The Hills

Our God does not get distracted. He watches over His Children. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. The Psalmist says that “He that keepeth Israel (His people) shall NEITHER slumber nor sleep”. The word “slumber” means “to daydream, to doze off”. The Lord never takes His eye off of His Child. Continue reading

She Could Waterski, But She Couldn’t Swim

This tribute to Carolyn says so very much, and it’s a perfect description of that which we call “Faith”. The Scripture defines “faith” this way:

Protos

The Scribe was not asking what the FIRST of the TEN Commandments were. He was asking what was the πρῶτος prōtos – the very first Law that God ever gave mankind. What was the Law that was binding on Adam and Eve, Continue reading

The Christmas Story Part 1

When Jesus was born His birth brought the immortal into mortality. God fulfilled His Promise to send a Redeemer (Genesis 3:15; Revelation 12:7-9). God fulfilled His promise to Abraham in Christ (Genesis 12:3). God would step down from Heaven to be with us (Matthew 1:21-23; Isaiah 7:14). When we could not touch the face of God, God will come down so He can touch our face and our lives! Continue reading

The Gift Of God

Is it wrong to give Christmas presents? I don’t think so. I think generosity is a Christian virtue. We shouldn’t let Christmas be just about gift giving, but should let our focus be on Christ. Continue reading

How To Study The Bible Part 2

The Apostles wrote the New Testament Scripture that we enjoy, and the Prophets wrote the Old Testament Scripture. The foundation of the Church is the Scripture properly interpreted. And all Scripture points to Christ. As we draw Scripture into our lives the will of God is that we become more like Christ. Continue reading
