At Home In Christ’s Word

Some people say “My sin has trapped me, so I will focus on my sin.” That doesn’t work. That’s like going on a diet and studying a Pizza Hut menu so you’ll know what to avoid. It’s counterproductive. Repent of your sin, but make yourself at home in Christ’s Word. Continue reading

The Tabernacle, the furniture, the implements, and the sacrifices we SHADOWS of the Christ. The lamb without blemish that was slain taught Israel that the Lamb of God must be slain for their sins. The Burnt Offering emphasized the judgment of God poured out on His Son for us. Continue reading

They believe that God is no more than love embodied, the kindly Eternal and Absentminded Grandfather who always has a little change for his grandbabies. This is not what the Scripture says of God. God must exercise wrath against sin. Continue reading

The Glory Of His Presence

I was reading an article the other day written by a young Christian who thought that what made the Church was its music. Music is fine. I love music. I love all types of music. But you have music in a honkey tonk, in bars, at Walmart, and most stores. You have music in elevators. God’s people should be joyous, singing people. But if God is not in it, there is nothing. Continue reading

The Holy Spirit

I have heard people refer to the Holy Spirit as “It”, as if the Spirit were a power or a thing. He is not a thing. The Spirit is a Person. Continue reading
